Four people shot and injured during ‘violent’ home invasion in the Bridle Path
Three people were shot and a fourth was attacked with a hammer during a home invasion in Toronto's Bridle Path neighborhood, according to CityNews's report. Police say masked suspects forced their way inside early Thursday morning.
Reporter David Zura says police do not believe the home was specifically targeted and suspect burglary was the motive. The Bridle Path is known for its large homes on expansive residential lots.
Neighbors describe seeing people photographing houses in the area before the incident. Those observations are presented separately from the police account; the report does not establish a connection to the attack.
"We recognize how frightening and disturbing an incident like this is," Toronto Police Inspector Kristy Smith says at a briefing. She announces an increased police presence in the neighborhood over the coming days.
