Berlin’s most exclusive night club
The bouncer approves. The phone cameras, however, have to be covered with stickers.
Andrew Callaghan's Berghain visit has become a fast-starting Short on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, reaching more than half a million views in nine hours. That's already several times the channel's usual full-day audience for Shorts.
In "Berlin's most exclusive night club", Callaghan arrives at the famous Berlin techno venue in what he calls his "Caribbean business casual outfit". His companion Stef changes into rave clothes in the bathroom after they get through security. Getting dressed for the occasion apparently doesn't have to happen before getting through the door.
With photography forbidden, the interior appears through GTA-style animation rather than documentary footage. Callaghan describes the dance floor and sexually explicit dark rooms while the animated reconstruction illustrates his recollections. "And we hired human animators to render our recollections," he explains.
The animation has become a subject in the comments, alongside comparisons to Hitman 3's Berlin nightclub mission. The Short sits beside the longer "Berlin Club Scene" upload and other excerpts asking what makes Berlin a party city and whether substances are necessary to enjoy it.
A Berlin nightclub founded in 2004 by Norbert Thormann and Michael Teufele. It is internationally known for techno.
