Navajo Language Revival

"Navajo Language Revival" is the biggest new video on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, the one-man operation whose about line credits him with directing, producing, filming and editing everything. The description ties it to the pilot episode of a project called 'Borders', and it drew the most views of the week's nine uploads.

The week started somewhere else entirely. On its first days came "Andrew reads Iranian Poem" and "Death to America Prayer Ceremony," and then "Andrew's New Documentary," whose description points viewers to a film by Ric called 'Punking Out' and to the Vasculitis Foundation. After that the channel settled on the reservation. "Why Native American Content Gets Shadowbanned" followed the language piece, and the newest of the three, "Corruption and Fraud on the Navajo Reservation," is only two days old and already the channel's busiest video right now.

It is familiar ground for the man who made his name with the street interviews of All Gas No Brakes: going somewhere and letting people talk. Across the whole channel, views ran a touch below their usual daily pace, so the steady flow of uploads kept things even rather than lifting them.

Among documentary and journalism channels, Absolute History and NOVA PBS are the ones running above their usual pace, while Channel 5 sits fourth by subscribers in the group.
