BBC Earth's lifetime views have now edged past 5.7 billion, and the channel added four new videos to that pile, each built around one corner of the animal world.

The biggest total belongs to "The Blind Hunter Beneath The Namib Desert | 20 Years of Planet Earth II | BBC Earth," part of the show's anniversary run. Three days in, it is still gathering views nearly as fast as it did on its first day. The newest upload is moving quickest, though. "The Fascinating World of Spiders | BBC Earth" went up a day ago and is already running slightly ahead of the desert hunter's daily pace. "The Extraordinary Lives Of Birds | BBC Earth" had a similar opening day, but it has cooled more since. The Tuesday opener, "The Most Extraordinary Animal Journeys On Earth | BBC Earth," has settled into a slower rhythm.

Among the documentary and journalism channels, BBC Earth sits third of nine by subscribers. It trails National Geographic and VICE and stays a small step above WIRED, which is fitting company for a week spent with spiders, birds and a hunter under the sand.
