Michael B. Jordan's Waterland episode leads Nat Geo Animals' bear week

The day-old America the Beautiful episode is drawing views about twice as fast as the Alaska and Fat Bear Week specials just behind it.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Waterland wins the week. "Exploring Waterland (Full Episode) | America the Beautiful ft. Michael B. Jordan | Nat Geo Animals" went up on Sunday, and on its first day it opened faster than anything else the channel posted. It is now running at roughly double the daily pace of its two closest companions.

Those two are long-form as well. "Inside America's Last Wild Frontier," an Alaska's Deadliest episode, holds the week's biggest total so far. The "Fat Bear Week" mega special, with Kodiaks, grizzlies and polar bears in one package, is only two days old and close behind on pace. Full episodes did the heavy lifting. The bison short and the monarch butterfly short stayed small by comparison, and so did the earlier animal-bite episode.

The channel as a whole is moving at its usual daily rhythm. Among documentary and journalism channels it sits fifth by subscribers, and its daily views are among the busier in the group. Only WIRED and BBC Earth run clearly ahead, and Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan is close by despite a much smaller subscriber base.
