Benny Johnson seeks frozen-food worker after money prank
His appeal drew more than a million views, and a follow-up now names the worker as Walt and reports donations.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,279,861 views a day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (105,952).
🚨Help Me Find This Man…
The worker wasn't laughing. After a prankster pretended to take money from his pocket while he stocked store freezers, he explained what the interruption meant to him: his children had gone to bed without him, another shift was approaching, and paying the mortgage was already a struggle.
Benny Johnson shared the encounter in his Short "🚨Help Me Find This Man…," asking to make contact with the frozen-food stocker in the Red Baron uniform. The appeal drew an estimated 1.3 million views in its first day, far beyond Johnson's usual Shorts audience.
"No, it's not a joke to me, okay?" the worker says in the footage. He worries that the confrontation could cost him access to the store. The video does not establish that he lost his job.
Johnson turns from the exchange to affordability pressures, then says he wants to organize financial support through GiveSendGo. Viewers' comments repeatedly return to the worker's fear of getting into trouble at work, alongside discussion of fundraising.
There is already a follow-up to the search. An October 30 upload identifies the worker as Walt and says $400,000 has been raised. Its title also promises a development involving Red Baron Pizza, but the title alone does not explain what the company did.
An American Christian crowdfunding website launched in 2015 as an alternative to GoFundMe.
