Two fingers become legs, and the rest has to accommodate Heidi Klum. The model and host has arrived at her Halloween party dressed as an enormous severed hand, modelled on her own left one.
BBC News' Short, posted today, has drawn about 25,000 views in its first three hours. On the blue carpet, the costume's oversized digits and theatrical wounds make for an unusual interview setup: Klum's face is integrated into the exposed flesh.
"So I got inspired by my left hand," she explains. The challenge was working out whether her entire body could fit inside a body part normally much smaller than herself.
The clip also offers glimpses of guests dressed as a winged statue, characters inspired by The Shining, and Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour. But Klum's explanation keeps the emphasis on dressing up rather than the gruesome details: "It's a day of, you know, fantasy and, you know, playing someone else for the night."
