Apple puts a cake-shop coder in its MacBook Pro spotlight

The M6 commercial has passed 12 million views, alongside launches for touchscreen MacBook Pro models and an OLED iPad mini.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

A pastry chef edits cake photos, then writes Swift code for the shop's app. Apple's MacBook Pro commercial gives its kitchen worker a second job, fitting baking and software development into the same brief scene.

"The new 14" MacBook Pro with M6" is the most-watched of Apple's eight uploads this week. Set to music by Teezo Touchdown, the ad moves through a Blender designer's workspace, music production and late-night illustration, framing several workstations inside an M-shaped cutout. It has reached roughly 12.4 million views, and also carries the strongest viewing momentum on the channel right now.

These are Apple's own product ads, with two distinct laptop introductions to keep straight. The M6 model shares the week's lineup with the touchscreen MacBook Pro, which Apple's descriptions pair with M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. "New MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display: The first-ever Mac with Touch" introduces direct tapping, scrolling and pinching alongside the familiar keyboard and trackpad. It and a second display-focused upload supply the channel's other busiest viewing spots.

The iPad mini gets its own pair of introductions, centered on an OLED screen, A20 Pro chip and Pencil compatibility. The main introduction credits Thandii's "Are You Gonna Find It" on the soundtrack.

Across the channel, daily views are running at about six times their usual level, while subscribers have held steady. Among neighboring technology-company channels, Duolingo has a larger weekly views gain and Google has added subscribers. Apple's particular burst of attention belongs to its laptop launches, with the cake-shop coder helping make the M6 pitch a little less abstract.
