A business card template makes a useful reality check. In Envato's most-watched upload of the week, digital artist Jonathan Lam opens a Photoshop file in PhotoCraft, changes its text and styling, then saves and reopens it to check that the edits survived.
"ArtCraft vs Adobe: Free alternative tested with real files" has reached roughly 127,000 views. It is also the channel's strongest source of daily video momentum, comfortably above the newer tourism-design tutorials. For a channel whose best-known courses teach Photoshop and Illustrator, testing a route outside Adobe is a particularly relevant assignment.
The vector test works too: Lam edits shapes, colors and text in VectorCraft. Video is where the distinction gets important. FilmCraft and EffectCraft cannot directly open Premiere Pro and After Effects project files, so those demonstrations use stock footage instead. His answer to moving his whole workflow is straightforward: "Well, not at this stage." This is a brand-produced review using Envato's own assets, with a promotional segment for its subscription service.
Viewers are discussing practical friction rather than just familiar-looking interfaces: selection tools, performance with multiple layers, differences between Linux and Windows, and updates arriving faster than a tutorial can accommodate.
Across seven uploads, Envato also found room for Erin Erickson's camera-to-blueprint match cut and an A24-style horror-poster exercise. Daily channel views are more than double their usual pace, while the subscriber count is unchanged over the week.
The newest design project brings the focus back to making something: Caleb Nugent researches Sunset, Louisiana, turns its water tower into a sun, and builds a vintage tourism shirt around orange, sunset blue and weathered paper texture.

Well done on the video though, well paced and good presentation overall, unlike MANY videos on the topic that tend to come across as biased to even outright snarky or anti ArtCraft. Selection tools are Photoshop's USP. I am talking about the manual tools to select area, hair etc. No other App is close to that quality. Try selecting a complicated photo in photocraft and you will know it is nowhere near. Hope some devs come and contribute manually to make selections better.
