A chocolate Pixar lamp that lights up, and a walnut made of pastry
Amaury Guichon's two new creations arrived a day apart, one of them served in a bowl made entirely of sugar.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

"Chocolate Pixar Lamp! 💡 Can you believe it actually works!!" is the newest short from Amaury Guichon, the Las Vegas pastry chef whose about text simply calls him The Chocolate Guy. The subject needs no introduction for anyone who has sat through the opening of a Pixar film: the little desk lamp that hops across the logo. Guichon's version is chocolate, and the title promises it switches on.
It had close to 400,000 views in its first day and is now past 700,000, moving faster than anything else on the channel.
The day before, he posted a longer piece, "I Turned a Walnut Into a Pastry." It is a trompe-l'oeil dessert in the style he is known for. The description talks about a detailed shell with a surprise inside, and the walnuts are served in a clear bowl spun from sugar. It has drawn a smaller crowd than the lamp so far, which is normal when a full video sits next to a short.
The older shorts are still working. The chocolate barrel with its snacking grapes, nine days old, has passed two and a half million views, and the watermelon pastry from the summer has gone past ten million and still picks up views every day.
Among cooking channels of a similar size, Nick DiGiovanni is having a big week and mrnigelng is well above his usual pace. Guichon sits third by subscribers in that group, with almost 24 million.
