"WARDOGS just DELETED their most overpowered item," and Westie's comments go to war over recon
His report on the game's latest removal pulled in more comments in nine hours than his videos usually gather in a full day, and the players are split over the spotters.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 87,262 views a day, 18 times a normal first day on this channel (4,741).
WARDOGS Just DELETED Their Most Overpowered Item...
A new Westie video usually finishes its first day with a few thousand views. "WARDOGS Just DELETED Their Most Overpowered Item..." passed that within nine hours and kept going, to close to 50,000. It has also left the rest of his week far behind. His video on WARDOGS selling 3 million copies and a solo-play upload were the channel's other recent leaders, and neither is near it.
The tags file it under update news and Season 2. Most of the comments are about the infrared rangefinder and the recon players who use it to light up enemies for their team. The most liked reply defends them: spotting a flank, it argues, is the whole job of recon. Another, nearly as popular, says it was never just a few spotters, because players were handing the gear out of crates at spawn until whole teams carried it. A third group simply finds the timing annoying, since ordinary players were only now unlocking it.
The argument spills past the title, too. One busy thread says the grenade launcher on a helicopter is the real problem, and another asks why an anti-aircraft gun should struggle to bring a helicopter down. The comments arrived several times faster than on a usual Westie first day.
Westie has not left his old haunts behind. The same week brought DMZ shorts about Roze and Bale returning as bosses and a creepy look at Active Matter, but WARDOGS is where his viewers are arguing.

What viewers say
It wasn't just "teams of spotters" abusing the IR rangefinder, people were selling these from crates at spawn, entire teams were rocking these.
@85inexactSee it on YouTubea little annoying now that the average player might finally be reaching them it gets removed
@RoamingCheetoSee it on YouTubeI quite like the spotting system. Most I'd say is that spotted enemies should only be spotted for your team
