Direct fire artillery and a former Marine's WarDogs arty streak

Four of the five uploads put TheDevildogGamer behind the guns, with one Tarkov grind for the first season tucked in between.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Direct Fire Artillery Causes Chaos!Direct Fire Artillery Causes Chaos!

Thirteen hours online, and "Direct Fire Artillery Causes Chaos!" is already the busiest thing on TheDevildogGamer's channel. It is the third artillery video in six days. The description says he has been getting pretty good with arty, and the chapters bear it out: half a minute of intro, a few minutes of direct fire, then a long stretch simply titled "Hunting Everything!"

The man behind the guns knows the real thing. His about page lists him as a former Marine rifleman and designated marksman who served in Iraq's Anbar Province, and he is clearly enjoying the game's version of fire support, minus the dance-pad aiming minigame he jokes about. He also says he hopes the game adds rocket launchers and missiles.

The first of the run, "Artillery is Absolutely INSANE in WarDogs," is still the week's most watched upload and is still collecting views. Its comments have turned into a field manual. One viewer wrote a small program that turns map coordinates into range and bearing, another runs a five-man arty squad with its own air defense, and the most discussed advice is old soldier's wisdom: fire, then move. Several players also confess that the moment an artillery kill appears in the feed, they go hunting for the gun.

The Tarkov video, about grinding seasonal tasks while stuck on the Black division quests, moved more slowly. Subscribers held level, and daily views sat a little under the channel's usual pace. Next to the Roblox creators of similar size it was the calmest week of the group, while Ninjagaming had a far bigger one than usual.
