UrAvgConsumer's $2,600 iPhone Duo survives a balcony drop

A home security camera catches the accidental fall, but Judner Aura's two-word response gives viewers another moment to replay.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 536,066 views a day, 46 times a normal first day on this channel (11,645).

UrAvgConsumer host Judner Aura had already been comparing the iPhone Duo's durability with other phones. Then his own handset slipped over an upstairs railing, giving him a test he hadn't planned.

The security-camera footage catches the phone falling to the hardwood floor below. On-screen text puts the drop at 14 feet. A child downstairs retrieves it, while a woman off-camera delivers the news Judner is already painfully aware of: "Your phone fell!"

"I know," he replies.

That small exchange is a recurring subject in the comments, alongside the case that viewers describe flying away from the phone. Several say they initially mistook the separated pieces for the foldable itself splitting apart. Others give the departing case an imaginary resignation speech.

The Short drew roughly half a million views in its first day, far beyond the channel's usual start for that format. Comments were also much busier than usual, with the brief reply and the airborne case supplying plenty to discuss.

For a channel whose recent Duo videos include app demonstrations and a detailed buying comparison, this is a rather less controlled encounter with the hardware. The follow-up close-up shows the phone intact and working. Judner's on-screen message gives the case the credit: "It survived! Thank God for cases 😮‍💨"
