Kawhi Leonard on Toronto gives TSN a second quick start
His talk of fan support and a family that loves the city ran far ahead of a usual TSN opening, while the channel as a whole moved at about a third of its normal daily pace.
TSN posted its Kawhi Leonard video on Tuesday, and seven hours were enough for it to pass 38,000 views. The title covers three things: the support he gets from fans, how much his family loves Toronto, and the idea of duplicating history with the Raptors.
Most new uploads on the Canadian sports network's channel gather only a small slice of that over a whole first day. At its early pace, this one is heading for close to fifteen times the norm. That makes it the second TSN video in two days to break away from the routine, after the full OverDrive afternoon radio show did much the same. The rest of the channel was quiet, and so were big American sports channels such as The Rich Eisen Show and First Things First.
The history in the title is easy to place. Leonard spent a single season in Toronto, 2018-19, and it ended with the franchise's first NBA championship and a Finals MVP award for him. For a Toronto audience, it is still the defining run of the Raptors' story.
