The Sims gives its elders a wardrobe and bedroom refresh

New hairstyles, styled looks and furniture feature in the official channel's most-watched upload of the week.

Picture frames on patterned wallpaper introduce a small domestic makeover: dresses, new hairstyles and a bedroom shown in several color combinations. The Sims' promotional trailer for its free elder-themed content ends with Sims chatting and playing chess, giving the furnishings a little everyday life.

It was the most-watched of three new uploads, reaching about 82,000 views. The ready-made styled looks and room are particular talking points in the comments, alongside requests for more elder gameplay and hairstyles for older men. Some viewers connect the designs to The Sims 2; others spot the duck-shaped lamps or see reminders of their grandparents. For a game built around successive generations, the older household members have given people plenty to discuss.

The update announcement also drew a substantial audience, outlining fixes, including work on Dine Out, and additions to family recipes. A shorter Spooky Day greeting rounded out the schedule and is currently attracting views fastest among the channel's active uploads.

Subscribers held steady, while daily views across The Sims rose to more than twice their usual level. Among nearby gaming channels, World of Warcraft and Zenless Zone Zero had much larger weekly viewing totals, while Call of Duty League had a quieter week than The Sims. Here, the week's distinctive detail was less a grand expansion reveal than a familiar decorating ambition: giving Grandma's room the right look.
