A custom upgrade machine turns Roblox Rivals into an increasingly suspicious duel with Emma, Ashley and Sage.

Two shotguns are apparently just a cosmetic change. That's Techy's explanation, anyway, when Sage notices his unusual loadout in "Rivals, But Your Weapons UPGRADE..."

"It's not a skin. Why do you have two of them?" Sage asks. Techy sticks to the story.

The Techy Plays upload has drawn roughly 373,000 views in its first hours. Its setup gives the audience information his opponents don't have: Techy has added a custom weapon upgrade machine, so these aren't the weapons or abilities players should expect in an ordinary Rivals match.

He starts with an upgraded Energy Rifle against Emma, Ashley and Sage on Docks. Shots freeze opponents and interfere with their screens; Techy suggests the servers are malfunctioning. A further upgrade brings purple stun flashes, until Emma declares the Energy Rifle banned.

That only sends him back to the machine. The dual shotguns follow, accompanied by the increasingly unconvincing Halloween-skin explanation. Then a sniper upgrade adds explosive fireball bullets, a thermal scope and the ability to lie prone.

The joke depends as much on the group's knowledge of Rivals as on the exaggerated weapons. Emma spots the problem immediately: "You can't even prone in a normal game of Rivals, Techy!"
