Cody delivers the line that should settle it. Junior has just proposed breaking into his dad's house to steal back the old red couch, and Cody answers, flatly, "That's not how ownership works." In SML's puppet world, that is roughly when the plan starts.

"SML Movie: The Red Couch!" has drawn about 1.6 million views since yesterday. It belongs to the channel's apartment strand, where Junior, Cody and Joseph try to live like adults and mostly don't, and it is the trio's second furniture story in little more than a week, after "Junior's Furniture Shopping!" The complaint this time is simple: the new blue couch is not the red one they grew up on.

The heist has some promising parts. Chef Pee Pee leaves for groceries, the front door is unlocked, and Cody goes in disguise to keep Junior's dad busy. Then comes the staircase. The couch slides down and lodges itself firmly in the wall, Chef Pee Pee comes home wearing a football helmet instead of carrying groceries, and Junior's dad calls the police.

Back at the apartment, Junior settles the matter his own way, with a can of red paint. "You can't paint a couch!" Cody protests. Across town, Officer Brooklyn T. Guy takes a missing-son report and, after searching the streets, delivers a bearded stranger to Junior's dad instead.

Viewers have their favorite moments mapped out: Cody's voice cracking as he lists everything going wrong, the helmet in place of the shopping bags, and the question card at the very end, which several noticed changes its wording in the space of a second. The blue couch, barely introduced, has already received a small farewell in the comments.
