"Why did we start using PASSPORTS??" is the kind of question Smart Nonsense was built for: something everyone carries, picked apart until the hidden logic shows. It opened Henry Belcaster's week, and seven days on it is past 300,000 views and the busiest video on the channel.

Three more followed. "This fish PREDICTS disasters.." came a day later and has gathered a solid crowd of its own. "How does electricity ACTUALLY work??" is the sort of basic-sounding question his blue alien co-host Derd exists to ask. The newest, "This machine can predict the FUTURE..", arrived at the end of the week and had a lively first day.

The passport video is not carrying the channel alone. "How elevators know which floor to STOP on..", now nearly three weeks old and past two million views, is moving at almost exactly the same pace. The NFL's yellow first-down line, explained 25 days ago, is not far behind. Subscribers held level over the past few days.

Among science channels of a similar size, Smart Nonsense sits fifth by subscribers. Hank Green is the one having the loud week, well above his usual pace, and Steve Mould is running busier than normal too.
