Fifteen clubs, one vote: Kaveh Solhekol explains how Man City could be expelled
His walk through the Premier League's expulsion rule is running at about thirteen times a usual first day, and viewers are reading the small print as closely as he did.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 608,701 views a day, 13 times a normal first day on this channel (46,287).
Any decision to expel Man City from Premier League would need approval vote by all other PL clubs
Kaveh Solhekol has taken Sky Sports News into the part of the Manchester City case that most fans had never had to think about. The question is what it would take to actually remove a club from the Premier League. Twelve hours after it went up, his explainer had passed 420,000 views, about thirteen times what a new upload on the channel usually gathers in a full first day.
The answer, as the description sets it out, is a vote. An independent commission found City guilty of all charges over serious breaches of the league's financial rules. Any expulsion would still need the other clubs to agree, and Premier League rules ask for three quarters of them, fifteen in all. If enough clubs voted to keep City in, they would stay. The club is expected to appeal. The chapters move from Pep Guardiola's comments to the timeline for appeal and punishment, and then to what the vote would mean.
That fine print is exactly what the comments picked up. Several viewers point out that the title says all the other clubs, while the rule says fifteen. Others wonder who should get a say, bring up Everton's case, or look back at Leicester's 2016 title.
It is one of several City videos from the same day. The Etihad statement, as we reported here, still leads. Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı answered the vote question directly in another clip, but his video has drawn only a small share of this one.
