Getting to Studio 8H is the evening leg of Veronika Slowikowska's workday, not the beginning. In Saturday Night Live's most-watched new upload of the week, she spends the day filming a pre-taped sketch before heading to 30 Rock for blocking rehearsals.

The T-Mobile-sponsored day-in-the-life video compresses that Friday into a little over a minute: script review over food, hair and makeup, tea between takes, then a car ride to the next assignment. Ego Nwodim drops in to greet the "Veronika Monsters," giving the backstage visit an impromptu fan-club name. The courtroom sketch Slowikowska rehearses that evening ultimately gets cut from the broadcast, but a glimpse survives here.

That peek behind the curtain drew roughly 86,000 views, the largest total among the week's three uploads. "Evolution of a Sketch | Office MVP" offers another production-side angle, while "she's the voice of a generation" arrived late in the week. Viewers on Slowikowska's video picked out her improvisation and singing, and one asked how dress rehearsals fit into the schedule.

Across the late-night neighborhood, The Daily Show and Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show are drawing much busier daily viewing than usual. SNL's daily pace is below its own norm, though it added 100,000 subscribers over the week and had the largest weekly view gain among these nearby channels.

The strongest current momentum belongs to uploads from just outside this week's window: "a safe space to talk to cops," followed by "checkmate" and "mr. wonderful, everybody." New posts took readers backstage; those earlier clips are doing more of the daily viewing work.
