Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

they have a lot to unpack

Saturday Night Live drew about 139 million views over the week, the largest weekly audience among its neighboring late-night channels. But the conversation under its most watched new upload is unusually personal: some viewers are discovering Grace Reiter, while others are recognizing a comedian they already followed.

That upload, "they have a lot to unpack," has passed two million views. Viewers single out Ashley Padilla's overwhelmed-mother performance, Reiter's facial acting and an "I love you" delivered like a reminder to the person saying it. Some also point to Padilla breaking character, reading the laughter as part of the mother's mounting hysteria. The comments give this brief excerpt a second subject: the pleasure of seeing a familiar online performer turn up on SNL.

Reiter also appears alongside Shane Gillis in "Chess Tournament - SNL," playing parents who interrupt a middle school tournament. Elsewhere, "Weekend Update ft. James Austin Johnson and Ashley Padilla - SNL" brings Colin Jost and Michael Che together with Mr. Wonderful and a mother whose babysitter canceled. Domestic strain has more than one place on this week's bill.

Daily viewing across the channel is roughly double its usual pace, while subscribers are unchanged. The Daily Show is also drawing above-usual daily views; Fallon and Seth Meyers are having quieter stretches. On SNL itself, the three most active uploads are all new: "they have a lot to unpack," "they're upfront" and "mr. wonderful, everybody."

I did not expect to see Grace on SNL randomly one day, but I'm really happy for her. She's a natural comic.

If you haven’t watched the full skit you should because grace has a lot of really great facial acting when just Ashley is talking that isn’t captured here
