Among the movie and TV channels nearest it in size, Rock Movie is pulling the most views a day, a little above its own usual level. The bigger leaps belong to others: Heavy Spoilers is running at nearly three times its normal pace, and House M.D. and ScreenCrush at about twice theirs.
Rock Movie is a clips channel. It cuts scenes from popular shows into short After Effects edits, and the shows here are mostly about motorcycle clubs. Three new shorts went up. The first, "Even the Cops Are Scared of Them," is drawn from Sons of Anarchy, Kurt Sutter's FX drama with Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman. It passed 1.5 million views. The other two, about a rescue and about beauty as a warning sign, started more modestly.
The real momentum sits a little further back. A twelve-day-old short called "Mama's Aura Is Scarier Than Any Weapon" is past seven million views and still drawing the most each day. Behind it is a four-week-old cut from Mayans M.C., the Sons of Anarchy spin-off with J.D. Pardo and Edward James Olmos. Which mama has the aura? The title doesn't say.
