An unfinished Tahoe gets a second chance on POWERNATION
Black Top Speed Shop pairs a turbocharged small-block plan with budget-minded repairs to hard-to-find factory trim.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
OBS Overkill: Reviving an Unfinished 2-Door Tahoe Build
POWERNATION has another truck to rescue, and this one needs its interior saved as well as its horsepower ambitions fulfilled. The unfinished two-door Tahoe in "OBS Overkill: Reviving an Unfinished 2-Door Tahoe Build" gave the channel its most-watched new upload, reaching roughly 37,000 views.
The Black Top Speed Shop project starts with a 1996 Chevy and a proposed turbocharged small-block engine described as making 650 horsepower. But the useful contrast is in the less glamorous work: rather than discard scarce original interior pieces, the team dyes trim, applies fresh vinyl and uses plastic welding to repair what is already there. The body then comes off the frame for chassis preparation.
That combination has given viewers plenty to discuss. One recalls a friend's purple two-door Tahoe from high school; others talk about these trucks' hot-rod potential. There are practical questions, too, including how vinyl dye holds up over time, plus appreciation for choosing something other than an LS engine.
Across nine uploads, the channel also tackled factory roof-rack removal, leaky hydraulic motor mounts and more work on the Dragalanche, the Avalanche project introduced in our earlier note. The Tahoe currently carries the strongest daily momentum, followed by the motor-mount upload and the foam-earplug brake-line tip.
Subscribers stayed unchanged over the week, while daily viewing is running above its usual level. Among nearby motoring channels, Gas Monkey Garage had a substantially larger viewing week; EricTheCarGuy had a smaller one. POWERNATION's own week belongs to a familiar workshop proposition: save the original pieces where possible, then make room for considerably more engine.

They didn't lie, these were the absolute coolest in highschool. Buddy of mine had a purple two door. I love these trucks.
