Brighton returned to the Etihad for the second time in a week and left with a result their supporters had never seen there in the Premier League: an away win over Manchester City.

Yasin Ayari supplied the goal, arriving unmarked to turn in Diego Gomez's cross. Keeping that lead took rather more work. Lewis Dunk stopped Erling Haaland with a perfectly timed tackle, while Bart Verbruggen tipped a shot onto the crossbar and later denied Matheus Nunes and Jérémy Doku from close range. Brighton won 1-0.

The club's extended highlights reached nearly 300,000 views in six hours, already far beyond the audience a regular upload usually attracts across its whole first day. The comments were also more than five times as numerous as on a typical first day.

Supporters are picking out Verbruggen's interventions and Ayari's response to his midweek penalty miss. Another talking point is the upload itself: viewers note how quickly the extended highlights arrived after the match.

The highlights are presented through a commercial partnership with MPB. Alongside them, Brighton has posted post-match reflections from Fabian Hürzeler, Verbruggen and Ayari, plus footage of the full-time celebrations. The goalscorer, the goalkeeper and the manager each get their turn to explain a landmark afternoon.
