Villa viewers nominate Jackson after McGinn's penalty miss

A solo goal and a crossbar-rattling spot kick fuel the discussion beneath Aston Villa's unusually fast-starting Fulham highlights.

Villa 1-1 Fulham | Premier League Highlights

John McGinn has the chance to put Villa ahead from the spot, but his penalty strikes the top of the crossbar and flies out. Nicolas Jackson finds a rather less straightforward route to goal: dribbling past Fulham defenders before beating Bernd Leno.

That contrast has given viewers of "Villa 1-1 Fulham | Premier League Highlights" a specific question to discuss: should Jackson be taking the penalties? Several of the most-liked comments ask for him to get the job, alongside observations about his finishing.

The club's brief highlights drew roughly 338,000 views in their first day, more than twelve times the usual opening audience for its short uploads. Comments arrived at more than four times the normal first-day pace, too.

There is plenty packed around those two chances. A pitchside handball review brings Villa their penalty, while Zion Suzuki makes a diving save from Bobb before Jackson opens the scoring. Fulham later equalise from a corner after Suzuki's attempt to keep the ball out on the line, and Pau Torres heads a late opportunity just wide.

Suzuki's save is another recurring subject in the comments, with one viewer directing others to its timestamp. Jackson, meanwhile, gets a separate club upload celebrating five goals in five, giving the penalty suggestions a little more context than a single finish.
