Nick's Kitchen's Banh Mì is closing in on Japanese dishes
Three days old, the sandwich is drawing views almost as fast as a ten-day-old Japanese cooking video, while 'What Is MSG?' opened quickest of the week's three uploads.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
What Is MSG?
Nick's Kitchen put out three videos: "Homemade Hummus" on Monday, "What Is MSG?" on Thursday and "How To Make Authentic Banh Mì" a day later. Hummus and MSG have both passed a million views. MSG had the brightest start, roughly twice the Banh Mì's first-day pace, but it has since cooled to a steady trickle.
The Banh Mì went the other way. Three days in, it is still pulling views at more than half its opening speed, and it now sits just behind "The Best Japanese Dishes At Home," the ten-day-old video carrying the most daily views on the channel. Further back, "Master Japan's Hardest Dish At Home" is still being watched at more than a month old.
Overall the channel ran at exactly its usual daily pace, with close to ten thousand new subscribers a day. Among cooking channels, Chef Tyler is pulling several times more daily views than anyone else in the group, and Addie Bowley is a little ahead of Nick's Kitchen, which sits fifth by subscribers and sixth by daily views, well above Bon Appétit and Great Big Story.
