Mckenna Grace did the homework long before Mythical Kitchen invited her to dinner. She made a PowerPoint of her ideal last meal four years ago, complete with memes featuring host Josh Scherer. Now she gets to present it at his table.
"You're the first guest in history to send us a PowerPoint presentation," Scherer tells her. Grace admits there is also a longer, redacted version.
The episode, "Mckenna Grace Eats Her Last Meal," has drawn roughly 730,000 views since yesterday. It puts a devoted viewer inside the interview format she had already planned for, with a menu that moves comfortably from salmon teriyaki bao buns to Cocoa Pebbles. In the comments, viewers keep returning to that cereal choice and the slideshow preparation.
Scherer has brought a presentation of his own. After an earlier Good Mythical Morning appearance revealed that Grace had never eaten pepperoni pizza, a cheeseburger or buffalo wings, he builds a course around those missing experiences. She tries the burger and pizza, then gets a hands-on lesson in removing the bones from a chicken flat. Her explanation for the gaps is straightforward: she was a picky eater who spent much of her childhood working on film sets.
Between courses, the conversation takes in her love of heavy metal and nu-metal, covering Limp Bizkit at Lollapalooza, and co-writing The Bad Seed Returns with her father. The episode also contains a paid grocery-sponsor segment.
For all the preparation, Grace is candid about the discomfort that comes with being watched. "I'm just so scared of being perceived, but that's my entire job, you know?" she says. Dessert offers a less complicated proposition: warm brownies, cotton candy Blizzards and strawberry frosting eaten straight from the tub with spoons.
