Press to jump

  1. 6:54McDonald's Double Bacon Quarter Pounder earns praise for its beef quality and burger construction.
  2. 17:07Culver's cod dinner impresses the panel with crispy batter and flaky fish.
  3. 25:34Firehouse Subs' Smokin' Honey Steak Melt earns the tasting's highest average score.
  4. 31:42Comparing steak-and-eggs orders, the hosts prefer Denny's meat quality to IHOP's.
  5. 53:03Morton's Wagyu ribeye divides the hosts over its intense dry-aged flavor.
  6. 55:05The trio praises Nusr-Et's golden tomahawk's cooking and flavor, but scores it below several cheaper dishes.

Max and Sofia interrupt the restaurant judging with something Kyle isn't being asked to score: a McDonald's-themed birthday cake. For a video built around expensive orders, it is a nicely personal addition to the table.

"I Tried America's Most EXPENSIVE Menu Items" was Max the Meat Guy's only new upload this week, and it has reached roughly four million views. The tasting stretches from fast-food sandwiches to a golden tomahawk, with Kyle eventually dressing as Salt Bae. It also includes a paid sponsor segment.

The less extravagant orders give the trio plenty to discuss. Culver's crispy cod impresses them, McDonald's beef earns strong marks, and Sonic's overloaded burger leaves Kyle tasting mostly salt. At the expensive end, Morton's heavily dry-aged ribeye divides the table over its pronounced flavor. Paying more does not make agreement any easier.

The comments add a second conversation: people identifying themselves as former restaurant workers explain how patties, fries and battered fish were prepared in their kitchens. Others pick up on Kyle's produce appearances, the little comedy interludes and his birthday. The meal is the premise, but the company gets plenty of attention too.

The new taste test is currently the channel's busiest video, followed by "I Cooked Earth's Deadliest Animals" and "I Tried Your CRAZIEST Family Recipes." Across the channel, daily viewing is running at about half its usual level, while subscribers were unchanged over the week. Even so, Max collected the largest weekly views total among the nearby food channels here, with Mark Wiens and Joshua Weissman also drawing substantial weekly audiences. His newest tableful of restaurant orders supplies about a third of his daily views.

  • former culvers kitchen worker here, yes, the fish is battered and fried to order. it comes frozen, is thawed in the walk-in, then kept at temp in a cold well with the batter. batter comes dry, just add water. they also have seasonal walleye thats made the same way.

  • Former Five Guys employee here! The ingredients taste fresh and the burger tastes hand formed because it literally is. Morning staff gets there at 8:30 and presses all the patties for the day, and cuts all the fries, veggies, etc.
There literally isn’t a freezer back there

  • Former fast food worker here, ordering more meat does not equate to more sauce or toppings, so it reduces the taste of the combined sandwich. That being said, i do usually order extra sauce when i order more than one patty

  • My 2 cents on the question at 11:20, I would rather 3 smaller patties over 1 big patty, simply becuase you can get texture and char on smaller patties, 1big patty usaly tasts kinda like meatloaf to me
  • 7:31 Happy Birthday Kyle!!
