Beerus heads to Netflix, and Geekdom101 brings the news to the Geek Army

A live read of Dragon Ball Super's Granolah arc on The Mangalorian rounded out a two-upload week.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the anime and tabletop channels close to its size, Geekdom101 had one of the softer weeks, with only one channel in that group adding fewer views. The two videos it did post both point at the same thing: Dragon Ball Super is close to coming back.

The bigger of the pair is "Dragon Ball Super Beerus Anime TV UPDATE: Coming to NETFLIX & More!", about the new run of the anime, named after the God of Destruction, and where viewers will be able to watch it. It is the channel's most watched video of the week, at close to 30,000 views. The comment section split into two conversations. Some viewers talked streaming services, with Netflix subscribers pleased and others hoping it lands on Hulu, where much of the older Dragon Ball already lives. A good part of the replies spoke straight to the host, telling him to shrug off the critics he had brought up. One counted down nine days to go.

The second upload is a live episode of The Mangalorian, the channel's series reading Dragon Ball through the manga. Volume 16 opens the Granolah arc, which the description calls controversial for how far it stretches the lore. That arc introduces Granolah, the last of the Cerealians, who wants revenge on the Saiyans, and an older story involving Bardock, Goku's father. A friend of the show co-hosts.

The channel as a whole drew well under its usual daily views, and its subscriber count held flat. On this channel the news posts usually do the heavy lifting, and the Beerus update is still the one people are opening.

  • Yes! This is great news, it ensures that many more people will be able to see it. You have to understand not everyone is going to or willing to pay and subscribe to multiple various streaming services just for one anime.

I welcome this. As I have netlfix so this is good for me.
