- 0:15The panel judges creamy, cohesive sauce, big cheese flavor and properly cooked pasta.
- 3:51Amy's earns praise for natural cheese flavor and a smooth sauce made with sweet rice flour.
- 6:19Trader Joe's divides the panel, with Dixon appreciating its homestyle quality and Moskowitz criticizing mushy pasta.
- 9:07Wegmans earns praise for curly pasta, balanced sauce and American cheese used as a binding agent.
- 20:23Strong Roots draws praise for savory richness despite containing no actual cheese.
- 23:20The favorites discussion brings unanimous praise for Wegmans, with Amy's and Vital Pursuit also receiving top marks.
Penne is already a sticking point. "I hate penne macaroni and cheese, that's not baked ziti," Shaw-naé Dixon says during Epicurious's frozen-food taste test, neatly establishing that cheese expertise doesn't erase personal preference.
The week's most-watched upload puts Dixon alongside chef Jack Logue and cheese specialist Adam Jay Moskowitz for a blind tasting built around creamy sauce, convincing cheese flavor and properly cooked pasta. It has drawn roughly 241,000 views. Amy's earns praise for its smooth sauce, while Trader Joe's splits the panel: Dixon appreciates its homestyle character; Moskowitz finds the pasta mushy. That disagreement also supplies the week's newest standalone clip.
Wegmans provides a patch of common ground, earning praise across the panel for its curly pasta and balanced sauce. Moskowitz singles out the use of American cheese as a binding agent. Meanwhile, viewers have found a second attraction between tastings: the emphatic shots of bowls being tossed into the microwave. Several comments specifically thank the editing team for making reheating a running gag.
Epicurious posted three uploads, with "The Easiest Way to Stop Wasting Food" offering a much smaller intervention: label your food. Frank Proto's earlier meal-prepping guide remains among the channel's most active videos, alongside both mac-and-cheese uploads.
Subscribers were unchanged over the week, and daily views are running at less than half their usual level. Nearby in food, Andy Cooks is drawing above-usual daily views, while Jamie Oliver is also having a slower spell. For Epicurious, the liveliest new conversation is decidedly specific: whether comfort food should come in penne, curls or wagon wheels.
