Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

This movie is so sad! #aeedit #movieedit #movie #edit#fyp

EastKage posted two edits with very different ideas of home: a town built to keep Truman Burbank inside, and a noodle shop where Mr. Ping raises Po. This is a clips channel reshaping film and television scenes, not releasing the original works.

The Truman Show edit, "This movie is so sad! #aeedit #movieedit #movie #edit#fyp", was the week's most watched new upload, reaching nearly 80,000 views. Jim Carrey's Truman discovers that his apparently ordinary life is a television production, with actors all around him. Viewers are discussing how the film's reality-TV premise reads after decades of social media. Others wish they could see a reunion beyond the film's ending, or ask which song accompanies the edit.

"He was a good father! #aeedit #movieedit #movie #edit#fyp" turns to Po and Mr. Ping. The Kung Fu Panda edit centers on the goose who raises a panda, emphasizing the care behind their relationship rather than their biological differences. It started with a slightly smaller first-day audience than the Truman edit, but is currently drawing fresh views faster.

EastKage added subscribers over the week and had the largest weekly view gain among its nearby movie-and-TV peers. Jaku and The Rest Is Entertainment also grew, while The Last Kingdom's subscriber count stayed unchanged. EastKage's daily views, however, are running well below their usual level.

The older shelf remains important: its Bridge to Terabithia edit has passed five million views and draws the most daily views on the channel, followed by "Sheldon got a new friend! #aeedit #movie #movieedit #edit#fyp", featuring Sheldon and Paige's contrasting personalities.

What viewers say

I think at the time this movie came out the nuance of the social commentary was lost on us all. But today after so many decades of reality TV and social media, it is truly disturbing.
