Aidan McCluskey's mayo emergency lands on Don't Tell Comedy

A pre-flight family errand supplies the week's most-watched upload, while Gary Simons brings a new full set from Montclair.

Aidan McCluskey's dad is flying to Mexico, and apparently the essential packing item is mayonnaise. In Don't Tell Comedy's most-watched new upload, a parental visit becomes an urgent Target trip because his father believes the condiment won't be available at his destination.

McCluskey tries mentioning elote, then decides explaining Mexican corn isn't worth delaying the errand. Soon they're looking for travel-size containers and considering empty shampoo bottles. It's stand-up storytelling with a wonderfully mundane object at the center. The clip carries Dr. Squatch sponsorship branding.

The upload has approached a million views, and the comments have become an informal correction desk: viewers point out that Mexico has plenty of mayonnaise, with several bringing the conversation back to corn. Others pick up on McCluskey's decision to abandon the explanation and get in the car.

Ten uploads filled the week. Gary Simons supplied both a short excerpt and the full set, "Black Thoughts, White Words," filmed at Montclair Mezzanine in New Jersey. The Connecticut-raised comedian builds material around growing up Black in Connecticut and the gap between his thoughts and how he sounds. His description also marks a Tonight Show debut earlier this year.

Across the channel, viewing is running well above its usual daily pace, and the week brought roughly 20,000 new subscribers. Hot Water Comedy Club also grew, while Soho Theatre had a quieter week with no subscriber gain.

The busiest clip right now belongs to Asha Ward: "Straight vs. Gay Face" is drawing more daily views than the newer uploads. Sam Froum's "Diverse Math Problems" and Bret Raybould's "Why I Love Immigrants" follow it, giving the channel's momentum several different comic voices.
