Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

dodie - BEST FRIENDS WITH A BLACK HOLE (aka 'The Answer') - Recorded Live at Middle Farm

dodie and three backing vocalists begin on a sofa, blowing bubbles into glass bottles. "It sounds horrible," she says, before laughter gives way to a drummer's count-in. It's a pleasingly informal entrance for a performance that eventually turns the studio into a dance floor.

There were no new uploads on doddleoddle this week, but "dodie - BEST FRIENDS WITH A BLACK HOLE (aka 'The Answer') - Recorded Live at Middle Farm" is the busiest video in the catalogue right now. Posted just before the week began, it has reached roughly 64,000 views.

Directed by Bertie Gilbert, the session lets dodie move through the room rather than stay planted at a microphone. She leaves the sofa to dance, settles at the piano for a quieter passage, then returns with a shaker as the musicians and singers join the movement. The credits include Greta Isaac, Martin Luke Brown and Miranda Chambers, with Peter Miles producing the live recording.

The Middle Farm recordings of "Smart Girl" and "The List" are also among the channel's most active uploads. Together, these sessions give the upload-free week a distinctly live, communal character, far removed from an empty stage.

The subscriber count held steady, while the existing library added about 45,000 views over the week. Nearby in subscriber size, JohnMichaelHowell had a much busier week of growth; dodie's own activity remained centred on the catalogue, with "The Answer" supplying its biggest daily audience.
