Things we can learn from the video

Press to jump

  1. 0:21Kurama is sealed inside Naruto, whose childhood isolation helps explain his ambition to become Hokage.
  2. 2:13The hosts use shadow-clone training to explain Naruto's stamina, then introduce Sage Mode.
  3. 2:49Rasengan and Rasenshuriken anchor the breakdown of Naruto's offensive techniques.
  4. 3:22The hosts argue for Naruto's exceptional speed by comparing feats involving characters such as Haku.
  5. 3:40Naruto's ability to reconcile with enemies gets a joking assessment as "Talk no Jutsu."
  6. 4:12Monkey D. Luffy is introduced as Naruto's opponent and the subject of the next analysis.

Naruto's shadow clones aren't just extra bodies in a fight. In DEATH BATTLE!'s new breakdown, they're also a shortcut to an extraordinary amount of training, giving Wiz and Boomstick a way to explain the ninja's strength beyond his most spectacular attacks.

"Naruto is WAY Stronger than you think!" has drawn nearly half a million views in ten hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for regular videos. Its comment section is more than ten times as busy as a typical first day, too.

This is a character analysis, not the completed Naruto-Luffy fight. The hosts trace Naruto's beginnings with Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Fox, sealed inside him, then work through his ambition to become Hokage and the abilities that make him dangerous. Shadow clones and Sage Mode lead into the Rasengan and wind-powered Rasenshuriken; the hosts also argue for exceptional speed using encounters from the series.

The less dignified techniques get their due. Boomstick defends Naruto's ability to turn a ridiculous move into a useful distraction, before the pair reach his habit of persuading enemies to change course: the fan-named "Talk no Jutsu."

Viewers are already thinking about how the matchup should begin. Several want a continuation of the food-stealing gag they remember from Naruto's earlier encounter with Ichigo, with Luffy helping himself to Naruto's ramen. The video itself stops at the introduction: Wiz confirms that the next breakdown will cover Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece.
