Insidious: The History of Elise Rainier | Horror History
Zac Morris put nothing new up on CZsWorld this week, and his horror channel ran on what was already there. Leading it is "Insidious: The History of Elise Rainier | Horror History," a 19-day-old episode that has passed half a million views and is drawing more each day than anything else on the channel.
It is a big one: close to an hour, built with co-writer Sarah Cliff. Morris untangles every case Elise took on across the franchise and reads each one as a metaphor for childhood trauma. He also tells how Lin Shaye refused to be written out after her character died in the very first film. The chapters keep returning to Ed and Lorraine Warren, the real-life paranormal investigators Elise is set against.
That fits, because the Warrens are behind the channel's second-busiest video. "Ed and Lorraine Warren Lied About Everything," posted almost six months ago, has passed a million views and is still moving. It is billed as an unfiltered history of the couple whose case files fed The Conjuring films. Third is a history of the Backrooms, which follows the internet legend from a single yellow-room photo to Kane Parsons' web series and the film adaptation.
Subscribers kept arriving without new videos to draw them, close to ten thousand in the latest day. Among the gaming and commentary channels grouped beside it, DKOldies.com and LevelCapGaming are the ones running well above their usual pace, while Super Eyepatch Wolf, level with CZsWorld at 1.84 million subscribers, is busier than normal too.
