A purple cabbage, a bowl of lentils and Nisha Melvani's iron-rich salad

The registered dietitian's crunchy red cabbage salad, billed at 34 grams of protein, passed 150,000 views in about a day and a half.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the cooking channels close to her size, cookingforpeanuts is one of the few running warmer than usual, though Sam Jose's week is in another league altogether and Antojitos LindaMar is busy too. Caked by Rach sits right beside her, with a similar lift.

The reason here is easy to find. Nisha Melvani, the plant-based registered dietitian and trained vegan chef behind the channel, posted a red cabbage and lentil salad on Saturday, made in one bowl and pitched at ferritin, the body's stored iron. It drew more than 110,000 views on its first day, about twice what any other upload of her week managed.

The comments read like a kitchen notebook. People pick up her trick for slicing cabbage, admire a big green grater, and ask whether she sprouts her own pumpkin seeds. A few viewers say they are often low on iron, which is exactly who the title is speaking to.

The rest of the week was classic Nisha: three salads and dressings on one Tuesday, including sprouts in a lime miso dressing and a broccoli and bean salad billed for its sulforaphane, plus a list of cholesterol-lowering foods. The quiet surprise is a black sesame cake sweetened with dates. Dessert, of course, but sold on its minerals, and it has crept close to 100,000 views.
