Brian Mello swaps mileage questions for Tesla's flying Roadster

Two Roadster uploads mark a change of subject as the car channel passes 100 million total views.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 297,111 views a day, 8.4 times a normal day (35,506).

Brian Mello's car questions have taken a turn from how long a vehicle lasts to whether it can leave the ground. "New Tesla Roadster Can Fly?!", posted October 16, is the standout among his recent uploads, followed the next day by "Teslas Roadster Problem…."

The flying-car question has drawn a much larger audience than the follow-up so far. It also sits well above his recent videos on long-lasting SUVs, Audi RS5 sales and automotive good looks.

Across the channel, daily viewing has climbed to roughly 300,000 views, more than eight times its usual pace. The jump comes as Mello passes 100 million total views, with the Roadster pair adding a distinctly different subject to his durability-minded recent lineup.

There is another side to his catalog, though: asking viewers what they would want in their driveway. His most-watched regular video is "New Silverado SS Stepside | Would You Buy One?", with a GMC Vandura and a Tahoe SS also among his best-watched uploads. The Roadster brings a more unusual proposition to that familiar car-shopping question.
