Bowmar Bowhunting examines a nine-year-old buck's deteriorating teeth

A kitchen-counter skull inspection brings unusual dental wear into close-up, and prompts viewers to compare their own finds.

No Way!? 9 Yr Old 200” Deer’s Teeth 🤯

The antlers aren't the focus. On Bowmar Bowhunting's kitchen countertop, the camera moves in on a buck's jaw, where exposed, loose teeth and an unusual bony protrusion become the subject of a close inspection.

The presenter introduces it as a nine-year-old deer, then inserts an image of a normal jawbone for comparison. "By the way, this is not the way they look," he says. Turning the skull reveals similar deterioration on the other side. It's an examination of an unusual specimen, not an explanation of what caused the damage.

The Short drew an estimated 122,000 views in its first day, roughly six times the channel's usual start for that format. For Josh and Sarah Bowmar's channel, known for high-speed footage of arrows in flight, this time the camera's attention is on what remains after the hunt.

Viewers bring their own jawbone discoveries and questions about aging deer to the comments. One recalls finding a fossilized jaw initially thought to belong to a horse. Another has a more immediate household question: does Sarah approve of the skull being on the countertop?
