Aztecross wants airborne effectiveness gone, and the Warlocks have notes
A short Destiny 2 complaint about jumping Hunters turned its comment section into a class-by-class defense of who really spends the most time in the sky.
Why this story? The video drew 652 comments in its first day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (53).
Remove Airborne Effectiveness
What does it take to fill a Destiny 2 comment section? A Short titled "Remove Airborne Effectiveness" did it. The views were routine for Aztecross, near 175,000 on the first day, but the comments came in about twelve times faster than on one of his usual Shorts.
Airborne effectiveness is the stat that decides how well a Guardian can aim and shoot mid-jump. Bungie added it to Destiny 2 with the Lightfall expansion in 2023. The short takes aim at jumping Hunters, Stompees and all. Stompees are the Hunter exotic boots that make the class leap higher.
The replies turned it around. Many viewers point out that Warlocks glide across maps and that Titans have gear built to fight in the air. Some come close to saying that only a Titan could hold this view. A line from the short about staying airborne for three business days has become the running joke. One controller player says he has never found tracking a jumper much trouble. Another suggests the real issue is hand cannon aim assist, not the stat itself. A few Hunters take it in good humor and reply with affection.
The Short landed in a busy stretch for the channel. Around it, Aztecross finished a Dragonwilds stream on camera and tried the Arkheron beta with Luke and Les. He also reacted to LegendaryDrops' take on Bungie's latest Destiny announcement.
