Mactics questions blaming the controller for a Destiny 2 defeat
His mouse-and-keyboard debate draws six times the usual first-day comments, with viewers weighing aim assist against freedom of movement.
Why this story? The video drew 726 comments in its first day, 6.2 times a normal first day on this channel (118).
I Might Get Hate For This... 😳
A thumb or an entire arm: for Mactics, that isn't enough to explain who wins a Destiny 2 encounter. Playing while responding to chat, he challenges the idea that mouse-and-keyboard players automatically have the advantage over someone holding a controller.
His argument in "I Might Get Hate For This... 😳" is straightforward: if the mouse were simply superior, why would top-level controller players still be around? He points to an era when strong aim assist made controllers a favored option for high-end player-versus-player matches, and rejects the suggestion that the average controller player must be worse.
"Like, that feels like a cop out," he says of attributing another player's success to their input system rather than their skill.
The Short drew more than 700 comments in its first day, roughly six times his usual response, despite ordinary views. The discussion gets more specific than a simple choice of hardware. Viewers bring up sensitivity limits, fast turns, tracking targets and whether an input's maximum potential matters more than everyday consistency. Others argue that comfort is especially important in Destiny 2.
Among the technical arguments are small personal counterexamples: someone remembers a remarkably capable friend playing while lying on their stomach. Another says switching from console to PC still didn't persuade them to put down the controller for Destiny.

What viewers say
I had a friend that would lay on his stomach and play on controller and was crazy good and that still baffles me.
@IWearShoes31See it on YouTubeI pivoted to PC after playing D2 on console for years, specifically in Destiny I just cannot use a mouse. I don't have that issue in any other game. Destiny has always been a dream on controller idk
@fuddmugglerSee it on YouTubeI had a friend back in the day that played through the fire and the flames on expert guitar hero 3 with a normal controller over the guitar controller. To each their own

D2 is one of the few games where you can use either, the best option is whatever you’re more comfortable with. But other games it’s mnk 100%
@LosToastyToesSee it on YouTubeThe skill ceiling is higher on mnk and the skill floor is lower, for controller the skill floor is higher and the ceiling is lower. This is just the way it is with capped sensitivity and controllers having aim assist. This doesn’t mean that there can’t be outliers for both but just based on the hardware that’s just how it is -from a controller player
@alexbriggs5766See it on YouTubeI mean, using a mouse does allow for moves that are physically impossible on controller. Like if you want to turn around really fast, you literally just can't do that on controller cause it has a capped sensitivity, while you can move a mouse as fast as you want.
Other than that though, the two input systems are pretty much on the same level.@0SirennSee it on YouTubeThe movement capabilities on the two are not the same. M&K can move in ways that are not possible on controller

The numbers
The unusual activity is in the comments, not the views: this Short prompted a much busier first-day discussion than Mactics typically sees.
