"What a crazy edit": Asmongold reacts to the Hasan Piker clips in Trump's rally ad
The streamer turns from the Port Huron supercut to a question about himself: why he keeps his own clips out of official campaigns.

Asmongold spends the first minutes laughing at the production. Then he turns the attack ad on himself.
The clip, posted on Asmongold TV under the joking title "We're living in a simulation..", has drawn about 1.6 million views since yesterday. It comes from his stream: he scrolls social media and stops on Donald Trump's "MAGA Midterm Rally" in Port Huron, Michigan. It opens on a lighter rally moment, Trump's aside about looking at Senator Jon Husted and Nicki Minaj, before moving to the main event.
On the venue screen, Trump's campaign plays a supercut that pairs Abdul El-Sayed, Michigan's Democratic Senate nominee, with stream clips of Hasan Piker that the ad presents as anti-American. A title card brands El-Sayed "RADICAL." Asmongold's first response is to the editing itself: "Dude, what an edit. What a crazy edit, bro." Of Piker's role in it, he says: "He is the perfect enemy. He is the perfect bad actor." He also pauses on a Truth Social post from Trump that shows Ilhan Omar's name above the caller ID "Scam Likely."
The longer second half is more reflective. Campaigns, he argues, pick internet personalities as shorthand for what they oppose, and "you don't need to have a lot of popularity or control in order to be used as an example of something that's really bad."
That is why, he explains, he stays away from official political campaigns. "Because I know the kind of clips that people could make about me. I do," he says. "I don't want people to have to defend things that I say, because I know that culturally, we're not there yet."
It is a quieter note than the channel's other uploads that day, which included Asmongold trying the fan game Azeroth Survivors, but this is the clip that drew the most viewers.
