Nara Smith's personality becomes Architectural Digest's next design brief
AD Big Picture uses questions about movies and design convictions to imagine her dream room.

Designing Nara Smith's Dream Room | AD Big Picture | Architectural Digest
A home tour starts with a room someone already lives in. Architectural Digest's newest Nara Smith interview works backward: start with the person, then imagine the room.
In "We Turned Nara Smith's Personality Into a Room | AD Big Picture | Architectural Digest," the model and creator known for elaborate from-scratch cooking videos answers questions about everything from the movie that captures her life's visual style to the design hill she'd die on. Those answers become AD's brief for a proposed interior. It is a different kind of personality test, with furniture at the end.
The interview was the most watched of the channel's three new uploads, reaching about 41,000 views in its opening half-day. Among the comments, viewers pick up on the personality-to-design premise and the idea that tastes evolve with age.
The other new posts revisit two homes with very different stories: Julianne Moore's New York apartment and the underground coal-delivery tunnel at The Elms in Newport, built to keep both fuel and the people transporting it out of sight.
Those subjects also supply AD's strongest ongoing momentum. Moore's full Open Door tour has reached roughly 4.6 million views and remains its busiest upload by daily views, followed by the longer exploration of The Elms and its concealed working spaces.
AD added subscribers over the week, although today's viewing is much slower than its usual daily pace. The fresh design experiment with Smith gives that familiar home-tour shelf a new question: not what does your home say about you, but what would your answers turn it into?
