Shirahaha asks: a goose for a 3D printer?

A trade-up challenge has passed a million views as the channel's daily viewing climbs well beyond its usual pace.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 1,743,431 views a day, 6.6 times a normal day (264,057).

A goose is the starting proposition in Shirahaha's new title, "Trade up challenge!Goose for 3D Printer?" It's a different hook from the channel's familiar puzzles and optical illusions: this time, the printer itself is the object of the question.

Posted October 19, the upload has reached roughly 1.6 million views. Alongside that milestone, Shirahaha added about 1.7 million channel views in a day, more than six times its usual daily pace. That channel-wide rise doesn't establish how much came from the trade-up challenge, but the new upload gives this busy day a distinctive centerpiece.

It also changes the subject after September's "The ultimate solution to merch storage!" and the more pointed "I hate 3D printing…" The channel has long made room for both useful objects and things designed to baffle: its most-watched Shorts include a cheese puzzle, an arrow billed as impossible to point left, and a printed illusion. The goose-for-printer proposition adds bargaining to that collection of curiosities.
