Chris Broad and CDawgVA take Abroad in Japan to Britain

A sleeper train and an abandoned castle feature in their UK trip as the channel's daily views climb sharply.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 839,166 views a day, 11 times a normal day (74,315).

Japan's overnight trains have supplied one of Chris Broad's most-watched adventures. His new journey puts a British sleeper service under scrutiny instead, with Connor, better known as CDawgVA, along for the trip.

Abroad in Japan is drawing roughly 840,000 views a day across the channel, more than eleven times its usual daily pace. That jump comes alongside the arrival of "I Survived Britain's Cheapest Sleeper Train | Ft. @CDawgVA", which has collected about 770,000 views since its October 26 release. Those are views on the upload since publication, rather than its contribution to a single day's channel total.

Broad describes the video as the start of a three-day UK trip with Connor. The Caledonian Sleeper opens the itinerary, followed by an abandoned castle billed as haunted and a final chapter titled "The Greatest Sleepover Ever". Broad filmed and edited the outing himself.

It's a change of geography after his sprawling bicycle journey from Yamagata to Kagoshima. But overnight travel is familiar territory for Abroad in Japan: its earlier "What Riding Japan's FIRST Class Overnight Train is Like 🚅" remains among the channel's most-watched regular videos. This time, Broad is taking the sleeper-train premise back to his home country.
