A small shark turned up in a flooded New Jersey neighborhood after the nor'easter, and the clip neared a hundred thousand views within a day.

Weather ran the week. Of fifteen uploads on ABC7, the Los Angeles station's channel, the one moving fastest came from the other side of the country: a small shark swimming down a flooded residential street in Surf City, New Jersey, after the nor'easter pushed the ocean into the Jersey Shore. Barely a day old, it is the channel's busiest video.
Closer to home, the Pacific kept the forecasters busy. One report followed Tropical Storm Rachel forming behind Hurricane Polo and what that means for Southern California this week. Another offered a first look at Polo's waves surging into a hotel restaurant in Playa Azul, with landfall in Baja California expected on September 30.
The rest was harder news. A report on a lawsuit against Cornell, in which a former student says she was drugged and sexually assaulted by fraternity members, drew nearly as quickly as the storm coverage. Christa Pike's plea to Tennessee's governor, days before her scheduled execution, and a report on a 77-year-old couple accused of killing their son-in-law rounded out the most watched.
ABC7 has the most subscribers among the local news stations it is grouped with, just ahead of Atlanta's 11Alive, which is running a little below its usual pace.
