Father of crime enforcer shot dead in Melbourne | 7NEWS

A neighbor heard gunshots, ran outside and found Elias Serevetas dead. The 55-year-old had been shot outside his brother's home on Mahoney Road in Reservoir just before midnight, 7NEWS Australia reports.

Reporter Cassie Zervos follows the investigation from the Melbourne shooting scene to Thomastown, where firefighters extinguished a burned Lexus linked to the gunman's escape. Detective Inspector Leigh Howse says police also spotted a white Toyota Corolla hatchback, but it evaded officers when they tried to stop it.

The report then moves to Dakota Drive, where Zervos explains that the suspect abandoned the Corolla and escaped on foot. Surveillance footage and police scenes accompany the account of the targeted ambush.
