Video surging 23x the video's usual pace

Xamy takes on an FNCS champion in a 1v1, and viewers debate who it is

The PWR creator's duel had an ordinary first day, then picked up sharply on its third, while the comments argue over the identity of the pro across the map.

Why this story? The video is running at 42,940 views a day, 23 times its usual pace (1,842).

Can I Beat a FNCS Champion in a 1v1?Can I Beat a FNCS Champion in a 1v1?

Xamy, one of the creators in the Australian Fortnite group PWR, set his own aim against a Fortnite Champion Series winner in "Can I Beat a FNCS Champion in a 1v1?" The video was in no hurry. It opened with about 5,000 views on its first day, a normal start for the channel. Its third day was far busier than the first two, and it is now close to 50,000.

Who the champion is depends on whom you ask. The video's tags point to Volx, Xamy's PWR teammate, who is tagged as a World Cup qualifier and runs a channel of about the same size. The most discussed thread in the comments says the opponent is a different Oceania player called Alex, and a few viewers swap their own rankings of the region's best. A second running joke asks whether the pro was paid to play along. Others tease that the video spends more time on Xamy's gaming gear than on the match itself.

The duel opened a busy stretch of group formats on the channel. A day earlier came "I Cheated in a Youtuber Tournament!", and the day after brought a "Streamer Edition" of Guess the Imposter, with Volx again among the tags. The biggest recent upload is still "Who is Lying Game!" from late September, which remains well ahead of everything posted since.
