How much can a team captain take before the interrogation becomes the entertainment? Would I Lie To You? gives both David Mitchell and Lee Mack their own collections of patience-testing stories among nine uploads this week.
“Stories That REALLY Wind David Mitchell Up 😂 | Would I Lie To You?” brings together Sara Pascoe's story about mistaking Costa Rica for somewhere in Spain, David O'Doherty's purported bird leg-warmers and Sam Campbell's headlice-advert tale. Lee's companion compilation includes Stephen Mangan imagining beans on toast as a helicopter rescue and Jack Dee's story about finding his builder eating doughnuts in the bath. Whether true or invented, these are unusually specific things to have to cross-examine.
Romesh Ranganathan's politeness Short remains the week's most-watched upload, now at roughly 1.4 million views. Viewers are discussing the etiquette dilemma and a rare verbal slip from David. Joe Lycett's art-themed story is another busy spot, with Lee's new compilation also among the channel's strongest current draws.
The channel added about 5,000 subscribers over the week. Its weekly view gain was the largest among the nearby talk-show channels here, though today's viewing pace is below its usual level. For those wanting the whole panel rather than a quick punchline, the new full-episode upload features AJ Odudu, Darren Harriott, Diane Carson and Sam Campbell.
