DFW Weather: Flood watch to take effect starting Wednesday due to rain chances

More than two billion lifetime views sit on WFAA's channel, and this week the Dallas ABC station spent its uploads the way a local newsroom does when clouds gather: on the weather. Fifteen videos went up. The one drawing the biggest crowd was a flood watch alert for North Texas, which passed 13,000 views within about four hours. It was followed by more rain coverage, including an evening update from chief meteorologist Pete Delkus and a 14-day forecast with the watch running from Wednesday afternoon into Friday.

The weather had company. Republicans questioning former special counsel Jack Smith on Capitol Hill came second, and a lighter item had ice sculptors arriving to carve a Harry Potter themed ICE at the Gaylord, the holiday attraction that returns to Grapevine each year.

The channel as a whole ran at a little over half its usual daily pace, and subscribers held steady. That put it in step with most of the big local stations. ABC7, CBS New York and FOX 11 Los Angeles were also in a lull, while KTLA 5 stayed close to its normal busy rhythm.
