A knife, a football god and the Niners: Vaseline Noodles on sports fans

The one new sketch asks what a fan would sacrifice for a win, and as usual every part is played by Nick Wong himself.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Nick Wong posted one sketch this week, "How far some sports fans would go," and it is a dark little bargain. The description puts the question to viewers directly: what would you give up to see your team win big? The tags point at the 49ers and Brock Purdy, and the sketch follows a devoted fan through a deal with a football god that escalates quickly.

The comments are mostly about the turns. Plenty of viewers were sure the fan would go after the football god himself, which seemed to them the obvious way out. Others cannot get over a calm music critique delivered right after the knife scene, and a stray "Bang Bang Niner Gang" chant has become a small running joke. One reminder keeps surfacing: every character on screen is the same man. The most popular question is simply which team Wong roots for, and it has drawn a long thread of replies.

The new sketch is already pulling the most daily views on the channel, but only just. Two summer board game pieces are close behind: "The Most Dramatic Game of Tapple," the scripted one, now past five and a half million views, and "When it's impossible to be on the same Wavelength," nearing five million.

The channel added about 10,000 subscribers and ran at roughly its usual pace. Among comedy sketch channels of its size it sits mid-pack, while Sophia & Noelle are having a very big week and Colby Martel and Gabi Jones are running well above their normal speed.

  • i once again forgot that ALL this was acted by ONE singular man 🥀
  • For some reason I was expecting him to take out the football god. It seemed like the right solution.
